The Overhaul Update


This is a big one.  I wanted to add more weapon variety to the selection, feeling constrained by the overlays needing to conform to the shape of the existing weapons. I realized that I had taken a no-nonsense approach to boss hair in the past, so who's to say I can't remove the guns? It was a bit more grueling of a task than I had realized- by removing every weapon, I would need to fill in what is cut out from the uniform/body of the bosses and then update every single variant of the parts which fell within that gap to accommodate these additions.

So, in a sense, almost 90% of the parts and all of the bases are new or greatly tampered with as of this update.

Now, let's get an official list of the improvements that I bothered to remember:

  • Boss templates are now more stripped down to allow for greater customization.
  • Every boss has had several new weapons added to their arsenals.
  • Every boss who aims with two hands can now have guns placed individually into each hand to allow for every possible weapon combination.
  • Every boss now has 3 firing frames to account for additional possible weapon combinations.
  • Most* bosses now have toggleable blood. *Hitler does not have toggleable blood
  • Almost every boss's uniform recolors have been completely remade
  • Several hairstyles added to most bosses
  • Personal logo added to the game startup

Despite all that was accomplished, this update was a bit rushed and could use the following additions:

  • Context-sensitive frame ordering for animated preview and frame exporter
  • More parts for the Hitler base to keep it more uniform with the options available to the other bosses

These additions will come in a follow-up update soon. Then I will get back on track with adding the Spear of Destiny bosses.
