A lonely diver tries to find a way to connect with profound feelings while hunting for treasure.

This game was made for the May 2018 Bitsy Jam: Ocean.

Music credits: The Oceans Continue to Rise by Chris Zabriskie

Most of this game was implemented using ruin's "Image to Bitsy" tool.

Most of the sketches were created using the art of Ernst Haeckel as a base.

This game was made as an exploration of the possibilities of Bitsy, a browser based game creation tool developed by Adam Le Doux.

I love your art! How do you make such beautiful drawings with only "a few" pixels?
Makes me want to try and make some cross-stitch embroidery with similar designs :)

It's been a while since I made this, but if I recall I put Ernst Haeckel illustrations into Photoshop, heavily boosted the contrast, and then moved those into ruin's bitsy image conversion tool.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I hope you follow that inspiration and make some lovely embroidery.

Wonderful little game. The music is also pleasantly relaxing. Well done.

This is a really beautiful game, not only because of the pixel graphics, but also because of the story. The collected sketches of the fish and other sea creatures have become so pretty, and the decision the player has to make in the end has touched me positively. The end that I chose made me very happy too. <3 A stunning little game, that I gladly included in our compilation article about great entries of the Bitsy Jam and in the related gameplay video. :) Once again, great work!

Best wishes,
Sebastian

Fantastic use of the image-to-bitsy tool, it makes all the scenes so evocative. The real treasure was the fish we sketched along the way...
